Did anyone else notice, in the shot of Earth, that Greenland does not have it's glacier? Is that just me? |

I'm a nerd but I'd still attempt to beat you up for asking a question that is so unrelated to anything that anybody should be interested in.
Nothing personal, but if I ever see you, I'm goanna kill you.
Ahhhhh....the anonymity of the internet saves me from criminal prosecution once again, mister lester from 1302 dong gin apart in daejong. |

yeah, now that you mention it, the glacier is kinda gone.
So what time frame do you think the show is set in, anyway? Do you think the whole dylan thing, and the names of old Roman gods, kinda suggests that the show is far in the future, and that the Colonials-Cylons are descendants of OUR descendants? Or maybe it's contemporary, and the Cylons have been to earth, in the 1960s, and enjoy Bob Dylan and Ravi Shankar and stuff? They do seem kinda hippy-ish, sometimes, in a Charles Manson kinda way...
it's very late now, and I am half asleep after watching the show, but it all seems pretty bizarre and confusing to me. |

In the old series, they found Earth in the second(?) season. It was contemporary 1980 when they found it, and tried to fit in with Earth culture even though their physiology was superhuman by our standards.
That season was so horrible to watch *shudder* Made me glad it got cancelled (and it had no Apollo or Starbuck anyway in that on-Earth season) |

The original idea was that we were supposed to be descended from the people from Battlestar Galactica, which is why they wore those helmets that resembled Egyptian hats and all sorts of other little ideas. Then they obviously jumped the shark for the second season and decided it would be more dramatic and cheaper if they arrived on modern-day Earth.
It's possible this series is sticking with the original idea. |
