I've heard various answers to this question so I'm hoping to get it sorted out once and for all:
My huband and I left Korea without finishing our year (bad hagwon...please don't ask lol) and we want to come back but we're not sure if we absolutely have to wait until after the date when we got our first E2 visas or what.
When we left the country wasn't it cancelled? I mean they did say that if we left we wouldn't be able to re-enter with that visa.
We want to return to Korea in May but last year we got our visas in June.
We've talked to some recruiters and told them our situation and all they said is if our visas aren't expired we can still come, it'll just be more "complicated"...whatever that means.
How do we find out if our visas are expired or cancelled or whatever they need to be in order for us to be able to return to korea in May?
I certainly don't want to come over illegally so if anyone can give me info on this I'd appreciate it. Thanks. |

The only way to know for sure is to begin the visa process. If your application is approved and a visa confirmation number issued you are fine.
If they decline your application you will have to wait until your year is finished or work illegally for a month and then do a visa run (hence complicated).
