I've searched, I have, I've searched. But I couldn't really get any (up to date) answers. My school say they send people to Hong Kong for the visa run, because it's quicker. This is fine by me, but there's no directions/tips/links that I can find on here for this particular one. I was wondering if anyone had experience doing it and could help me out in regards to how to reach it, a place to stay etc. Heard something about getting a tourist visa to get into the county in the first place, is this correct? I might have got the wrong end of the stick on that one. As ever, thanks for the wisdom. Very Happy

you mean like here for some information:

If you can get an E2 in Korean to teach English you do NOT need a tourist visa to enter Hong Kong. You will get a 90 day visa waiver stamp on arrival.

There are lots of places to stay. They are cheaper on the Kowloon side of the harbor. Cathay has flight / hotel packages from 450k won - midweek (Hong Kong SuperCity Package (1Apr07-31Mar08)). For more information and reservation, please call at 02-3112-800 or contact your agent.

It's no quicker than a visa run to Fukuoaka or Osaka - not sure why your school is so happy to pay extra for a flight to HK unless they are using airmiles or have won a competition voucher or something. HK is overnight visa processing just like the other abovementioned places. Anyway, if they are paying, just enjoy it!
