| OK, i'm going to buy a new handphone and get a plan. My boss went with one of my coworkers to a place nearby and he successfully got a plan with no deposit and cosigning. So i'm not really worried about that. But i'm wondering about buying a phone. I'm looking at this site http://review.cetizen.com and there are differences in prices depending on where the phone is bought. It seems to be around a 100,000 between the cheapest and most expensive. Now if i go to this place to buy a phone are they going to expect me to buy a phone there? Or can i buy a phone somewhere else and bring it to them to get a plan? Also is it normal to get a discount on a phone. Is it normal to get a discount on a phone if your getting a plan there as well? Any other info would be great. |

I don't know where you live; but I was able to get a really good phone for 30,000. I got it at the PNU campus in Busan. My boss told me that there were vendors who would sell them for that much. Of course there were other vendors who were selling the same phone for 180,000 claiming that was the lowest price. You just have to hunt around-I went to four different vendors before I found the deal. As far as I know, plans are more or less the same wherever you go, and it is best to just get the plan where you get the phone. Being a foreigner adds a bit more hassle, but from start to finish I had the phone up and running in about 2 hours. You have to have your ARC, bank book, address, home phone# and so on with you-I don't remember if I had to have my passport or not.
Good Luck! |

| I went to the LG shop a short while back, and they had a promotion on a specific phone. It cost only 40,000 Won, and I am not tied into a contract. I'm on a payment plan, and with the line, and calls I make it costs approx. 35,000 per month. It's a good phone as well. By all accounts the LG stores have a different promotion every month. |
