Does anyone know Khan English school? My boyfriend is in Korea and I was offered a job there part time. They offered a plane ticket and a place to stay, the money is good but I'm not worried about that. I'm just wondering about the school's reputation, the turnaround, the other teachers... Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks in advance! |

I think it's fad at the moment. My school adopted the program for 6 months or so and abandoned it.
It's a franchise, and has some Korean-generated textbooks hooked into it. I've looked hard at it all, and I see no educational value.
Interested to hear opinions from others who have looked at it ... |

Actually, I kept Thinking of Star Trek all the time I had to deal with that cripe - for the record, I'm partial to Capt Picard, if I ever get to choose a starship I'm gonna team on ... yeah, I just displayed my geek creds, but it gets worse, just wait.
I love my planet, really and truly, but when the Mother Ship finally parks itself over the White House and opens up an Alien Embassy across the street on Pensylvania Avenue, I figure the ETs are going to need a good English as a Second Language Teacher ...
That's me. I'm ready.
Anyone listening out there, pay attention. My rates are reasonable, I think you will find ... you pay the transportation costs, I'll take care of you, no problem. |

In the previous Khan School thread, I remember someone posted a picture of Captain Kirk screaming, "Khan!"
That was too funny... |

You are better off staying in Canada. E.S.L. schools near Yonge and Eglington and Bloor West and Bathurst are supposed to be in need of teachers. |

Anyone got a link to any other threads that came up about this Khan English thing? Sorry for the trouble, but the search engine on this site sucks donkey, also I can't be bothered, but maybe someone else cares ... me, I'm just gonna be wary of joining any team at a school that uses these texts. |
