Did y'all just see that a few minutes ago? I couldn't catch much of it but there was just a black screen with a message that had five reasons to reject the FTA's influence on the media industry. Something about how it would require markets to be too open to American influence and something English dubbing or something. It took about two minutes.

Anyway, did you see it? Does anyone know exactly what was said?

It was on OCN or another cable channel, right? Basically just protesting FTA issues such as allowing the Korean-lanugage dubbing of foreign programs, etc. that would affect the Korean broadcast market.

Yeah, this was on OnStyle. I don't get it, what's so bad about dubbing? I mean other than that it sucks and is more expensive. And who sponsored the message? I didn't see anything noting that.

I forget the exact name, but IIRC it translated to something akin to "Korean Broadcasters Emergency Committee to Oppose the Korea-U.S. FTA". No doubt sponsored by an existing broadcasters' organization.

I have no idea why they oppose dubbing, but that is one of the issues.
