I'm currently teaching a course called British/American Culture to third and fourth year English majors. A major focus of this course concerns the history of the English language. Although I have a lot of good resources at my disposal, I lack any AV materials. Specifically, I'm looking for an eight part video series called, "Adventures of English," produced, I believe, by the BBC and aired in the U.S. by PBS. I've considered purchasing it via Amazon, but I'd like to use some of the footage this semester, and delivery times can vary from 'lengthy' to 'I-wonder-if-my-package-was-lost'. Therefore my question; has anyone got access to this marvellous series, and could you FTP it to me, or can someone upload it as a torrent, enabling me to download it?

I've searched the torrents high and low, but, unfortunately, there seem to be no complete version out there.

Cheers for any help.

I've seen it on youtube, but the quality wouldn't be good enough to show...

Edit: and I can't find it on youtube now.

Thanks very much for your help, my students thank you as well. If I'm able to download the entire series, I'll make the available to others.

Cheers.
