Ive started teaching at a number of kidners. Generally the clases run about 20 mins each for two hours with the age running from 5 to 7 years. I have been going pretty well using some of the material provided for me and also improvising with some very simple games on the white board and just using flash cards etc.
My problem arises when I want to teach even very basic games like hangman or simon says. Most of the Korean teachers dont speak a word of english and cant even understand me when I say hangman or simon says etc.
Has anyone else experienced this and whats the best way to try and get the kids to understand the games. The games I most want to play are hangman, simon says, chinese whispers etc etc. |

I teach kindi for four hours with no Korean helper, and I love it.
How to teach a game? Just start playing, and they'll pick it up. Draw the hangman picture and blank spaces on the board, say "guess a letter", and go from there. If they keep guessing wrong letters, then make a big shocked face, be dramtic, say "ooooh, the game is over now!" or whatever.
Simon Says is the same, so is Broken Telephone. Just give'er. |
