Hi,
Ive just moved here from teaching in Thailand and before that Taiwan. I've owned bikes in both places and I'm looking forward to getting one here but i'm a bit confused as to what exactly I need to do. I've gone to the driver's license web sight, but there was nothing on classes of bikes or anything that was motorcycle specific. I've seen a few people post who seem to know quite well what to do and how to get one.
So hopefully this will help other's too.
How do you get a license and what's up or insurance and classes? Also anything on driving restrictions (such as freeways/highways)... Thanks |

Yah dood.
First off, I don't believe you need a license if its below 50cc. Many bikes are 125cc, and do require a license, however I don't believe Koreans are that strict about it if you're non-korean. You will/and should get insurance though.
Also - motorcycles are not allowed on the expressway/highways in Korea! |

| best place to look for bikes in seoul is toegyero, near chungmuro station. there's about 500 bike and pet stores. i'm not sure which exit you go out of. |
