so i'll be in korea soon and im wondering if it would be possible to use an hdtv lcd as my computer monitor.

im gonna be shipping my mac pro over (my bro works at puralator - 75% DC), and i have plans to pick up and hdtv anyway for an xbox 360.

i dont want to have to buy an hdtv and another lcd for my computer...so i was thinking of just getting a 32" hdtv and using that as my monitor and tv.

would this work??

yes you can. It all depends how much you want to shell out for such luxury.

As an owner of a Full HD 1920x1080 resolution TV, I suggest you wait. Or buy a huge "computer-first" monitor, and run a tuner card in your computer.

Even at Full HD progressive resolution, I know my TV isn't up-to-snuff as a full time computer monitor. Refresh rate is stuck at 60hz. On a really big screen (mine is 42"), then 1920x1080 isn't really that great when looking at computer text. Your eyes get tired pretty quick when looking at it.

Higher resolutions are coming. Just wait. It's the direction things are going.

You can get a 32" computer monitor and run TV into that, however. That might be what you want to do.

Absolutely, I use mind everyday with my computer. I never use my notebook screen unless I use do stuff with 3D where I need 2 monitors.

With LCD monitors...refresh rate is a moot point. This only affects the view-ability of CRTs.

Really?

Must be the brightness that gives me a headache with my LCD? I have to dial it down quite a big to make it comfortable.

The resolution still isn't there, though.
