Counting the cost
The figures have now been vindicated by the government's own advisers. It's time we held our leaders to account for the 650,000 Iraqi dead.
Our collective failure has been to take our political leaders at their word. This week, the BBC reported that the government's own scientists advised ministers that the Johns Hopkins study on Iraq civilian mortality was accurate and reliable. This paper was published in the Lancet last October. It estimated that 650,000 Iraqi civilians had died since the American- and British-led invasion in March 2003. . .

I'd recommend others to read this article just for the comments of those below, the commentary. Startling reading and how divergent the leadership is to the normal Joe and Joanne.
Plus the article ending with this epitaph on the chapter page of this idiocy in a future history book;
[quote]Two hundred years from now, the Iraq war will be mourned as the moment when Britain violated its delicate democratic constitution and joined the ranks of nations that use extreme pre-emptive killing as a tactic of foreign policy. quote]

That study has been debunked .
The US isn't responsible for an unjust war by the insurgents , who are fighting to conquer Iraq cause they can't win an election .
By the way they study also says that 2/3 of the deaths are Iraqi and Iraqi violence.
Dead insurgents don't count either. What does a Bathist or an member of Al Qaeda do when they are alive?

You mean debunkered????? God, for one who seems to be concerned with numbers killed, you don't give a rats ass for any Iraqis. So besides being a broken record (thus, the definition of idiocy...), you are also one who conveniently deems who is fit to live and who is fit to die...you are no better than the Bathists you decry.

You dope were it not for US actions then the Iraqi Kurds would be wiped out once and for all by Saddam and Saddam would at some point attack other nations. Those lives count too. Anyway what happens when Bathists and Khomenits and Al Qadist have their way? Is there more than one answer? Lives saved cause of US actions count , not in your book but they do count. But as you know there would have been no war if the Bathists , Khomeni followers and Al Qadists gave up their war. That is the real problem- not the actions of the US. On another topic I would not raise the same issues if you had something other than lame responses. But you ought to blame yourself for that one. |
