Hello all, I'm taking off early tomorrow morning for Korea. I will be arriving on a tourist visa and then will obtain an f-4 once in the country.

Anyone ever done this before? What is the procedure? Do I go to immigration? What is the fee? Questions, questions.

Cheers everyone

take line 5 and get off at omokkyo ( 2 stops after yongdeungpo-gu office)
exit 6 and walk straight in the direction that you come out.
you will need to ask someone as you go cos it can get a bit confusing near the end. ph: 02-2650-223

you will need to take:
2 photos
passport
family history ( dueng bon )

hope it helps Smile

it all depends...are you a korean that was born in korea and moved to a foreign country or are you a korean that was born in another country (kyopo)?
if you're a kyopo, you need the following:
60,000 won
passport (2 photocopies of the picture page)
wallet size picture (2 copies)
father's certificate of canadian citizenship (you need the actual document, they don't accept just the card)
father's family history (called a ho-juk deungbo)
copy of your birth record (i.e. shows that you were born to your parents)

if you're a korean that was born in korea and got citizenship somewhere else, you need the following:
60,000 won
passport (2 photocopies of picture page)
wallet size picture (2 copies)
father's family history
your certificate of canadian citizenship

i went through a bunch of crap trying to get mine, so i hope this helps! Very Happy
