Hey girls, I want to know about the Korean Boyfriend. He seems to be pretty elusive as opposed to the Korean Girlfriend.

What's it like to go out with a Korean guy?

I'm writing a humor piece and need some interview subjects! Any anecdotes, comments, musings on why there are so few Western women strolling hand in hand with a Korean guy would be great.

PM me if you want to be interviewed (all anonymous: i don't care who you are and aren't about to expose your hot fling with your co-worker or anything)

Cheers!

If you want the dirt on Korean boys, just leave them outside.

They will have a fine coating of yellow dust by morning Smile

Korean men who travel often develop a taste for other women. When I was a teacher in the UK I was very friendly with my students. One Korean guy liked blondes (one Swiss, one Polish) but has since married a Korean, two liked Latin American women, one dated a Japanese girl because he preferred Asian beauty, another confessed he had a crush on a Turkish girl, another liked his English teacher at a different school and another one liked me!

Therefore I think we can't really generalise. One thing I noticed was they lacked confidence in approaching women (apart from the one who liked me who was a right pain in the butt) and took dating more seriously than Western men.

Most of the Korean guys I know, and I know quite a few, are not attracted to western girls. They consider them fat, not stylish, and too strong-willed. Strong-willed women are frowned upon in general in Korea. And the whole concept of Ei-gyo, which is the girlie way that Korean girls act, is very important to them. Not too many white girls don the girly-cutesy-eye batting-whining-pouting-obba! persona.

Of course there are exceptions, but if you poll the audience you will find that maybe 80% of Korean guys simply don't like white girls. And that goes for Korean-American guys too. Go ahead and make a scientific survey and see what you find.
Many Korean guys like me though, because I dress well and princessy, I am thin and I do the whole oppaaaaaaaaaa aegyo thing. hehehehehe^^ And you are right. Korean guys like girls who are girlie. Most western women are too tomboyish and some had rather die or eat nails, rather than wear a dress. Rolling Eyes They should have been born a man then. I am from the south, where some of us are still girlie. Even my Dad wondered why so many white women are against wearing dresses. Many of them won't even wear a dress to church. My Dad wondered if it would kill some women to wear a dress just once a week on Sunday. I agree.

I'm not particularly girlie and I am certianly not skinny. I've got an hourglass shape, a big rear end and a few extra pounds. Somehow I ended up with a Korean guy. He's a normal short, skinny Korean guy. I'm sure people can't understand what he's sees in me. Laughing He says he loves my shape and in the past I have shed a few pounds and he's been convinced I'm sick and need to go to hospital. Wink

I have just remembered a Korean male colleague of mine. He went to Itaewon all the time looking for western women, he ended up with one and she was not skinny (he said he liked chubby) and seemed happy with her. Think he was also hoping for a passport out of Korea though....

Hope he is not your guy Dazed and Confused because he was definitely barmy.

3 weeks ago i ordered some new furniture and the korean delivery guy actually copped a feel. yea, he really did cup a breast.
thing is, i mighta socked a western guy in the jaw for this but he just got pointed to the door. mostly he was just pathetic and why bust out thankfully non-girlie biceps for that?

Awesome. You should have slammed him.

This is really interesting. Personally I beleived that most Korean guys (at least older ones) had merely a passing interest in Western women as being primarily disgusting whores, going by what they must see in movies and TV... keep them coming!

You can PM me if you want. I think most people here know that I have had good experiences with Korean guys. I've always had a thing for short and skinny guys, and Korean fellas fit the bill. And I seem to do alright with them.

I don't have many personal stories about dating or even just having crushes (or having eye contacts Laughing) even though I'm full of romantic ideas. Embarassed Among those very rare occasions, two were with Eastern European girls in Canada. One from Romania and one from Kazahstan. They made the first move. They were 'girly' girls and it was a bit comfortable to talk to them because they spoke English as a second language as well. Well, I tend to regret a lot in a few weeks after I screw something.
