You should get your wage and bonus on the final day.

The deposit takes months I think.

if they haven't paid you by 14 days after contracts end..then you can file a complaint with the labor board.

Then they make a ruling and give the school a set time to comply.

if the school still hasn't paid after that..then you have to hire a lawyer. Small claims court.

But its a public school. Usually they pay. they're not crooked usually.its not their money they're giving you, its govt money.

You should have been paid for everything on the last working day of your contract.

They can call and get the outstanding balances for your utilities based on the meter readings at your apartment (you may have to read the meters). Just leave the money with them and they return the balance.

I have not heard of anyone having a problem getting their final pay, severance and deposit back as well as getting their ticket taken care of.

well I hired a Korean attoreny in seoul for last contract with a hogwa, he charged me 350.00 usd and did nothing. He promised to sue if I got thrown out of my house without 30 days notice like the contract said. Well nothing happened except that he called the hogwa BUT I got thrown out, with masters degrees and white stuff. I called the embassy and they said hire an atorney? .
This is my first time with a korean public school but I will give their names and everything if I dont receive money last day.. As long as I know that is the policy.
The principal hates me because I am WHITE... he got here 5 months ago and everything got so bad that I cant beleive that i stayed. I never knew racism on hand to hand level. The last principal loved whites and I was in a celestrial place.
Well so much for bad thoughts.
All I can do is warn you not to come to this place and I wont do that until I have been screwed. Attorneys wont do a Dam thing here even if you pay them ( ie. above)
Ps. I can give the attorneys name an copy of the credit card bill.....He speaks English.

What tomppatz said.

You should have/need to contact the local utility offices to have them come read the meters and turn things off. Obviously, if they are in your school's name or district office's name, you should have/need to ask them to have them read (water, electric, gas, phone).

Not too much help to you now, but for others that read this thread, it might be helpful for them to understand that you need to take some initiative, rather than just assume someone will do it for you (especially if you are the first foreigner at the school, etc.).

I hope it works out for you.

You really should consider not teaching English, the language is not your friend.
