I'm in a Hagwon and want to jump to a Korean University or public school. Term times start in September or March right? Thing is, my Hagwon contract ends in October.

If I quit my Hagwon job without doing a full year (I'd give my employer a months notice of course) would that look bad to a potential employer at a University or public school?

I have a CELTA and three years teaching experience elsewhere. In previous jobs, I have seen my contracts through to the end.

I started at my public school in October and some teachers came after me. But I also live in a small town.

The public school wouldn't worry about it and quitting at your 11th month would be a godsend to your hakwon and a significat loss to you.

You will save them your severance AND your return airfare costs AND they won't get in trouble from the labor office.

Oh, and as an afterthought.... the fall term will start on August 24 (not in September) this year.
