We were trying to apply for a 90 day tourist visa for China today, and the consulate told us we needed to fill out the section of the application form that says "Name of inviting person or organisation". Does anyone know what this is all about?

We might be able to get away with a 60 day visa, but the staff told us that we would still need to fill out the above mentioned part of the form.
