|
|
Say I have a three day weekend and want to do something out of the country...
What are the cheaper options? Any? Just Japan? Maybe a North Korea tour? If you all could give like a relative cost... where is the cheapest to fly to... to take the boat to? What would you reccomend? How much after air/boat expenses, hotel and food/entertainment for two people not trying to break the bank expect to spend on these slighty extended weekend excursions?
That and if you had two week vacations and a budget what countries would you see? Thailand, Phillipines, Russia, China, Vietnam, Laos?
Thanks for your advice... |

Having done battle with Korean travel agents at every vacation period for over 2 years, for a close 'non-Asian' destination my pick would be eastern Russia.
Surprisingly Russia *can* be cheap at certain times of the year (eg. spring).
Khabarovsk (3hrs flight from Seoul in Siberia) is currently 630,000 return (before tax and visa costs) on Asiana which is not bad.
From there you can take the train anywhere on the continent (Moscow - Vladivostok - Mongolia - China). |

True. The only disadvantage is that the relative scarcity of flights makes it difficult to make a 3-day mini-vacation over a weekend, despite the short flight times. |
