Hey, simple quick question -- is it okay to bring alcohol from outside into a noraebang? And if it isn't, have you done it without any problems?

You aren't supposed to. Some will catch you, and tell you to throw it away. Some won't care. They aren't supposed to sell it either. They have the fake beer called Cars. But at some places if you ask nicely, they will serve you Cass.

EXACTLY. I just didn't know how strict they are with it in Korea. Definitely adds to the fun and good to get the shy people going Smile

Didn't bring a flask from the states? Those come in handy, as long as you don't let it sit in there too long.

Put it in a bag so they don't see you bring it in. It will be fine, and it is a lot cheaper than having the house get you the 'real' beer.

Always got a bunch of beers down my pants on those horrible occassions when I visit a noraebang. Usually by a couple beers from the establishment, just to be "polite".

r u talking beer or hard booze? If it's bber they might not like it. Just bring a flask in or hide a bottle in your bag. Order juices from them and mix it. Even if they do catch you they're still making money off your 'illegal' drinking.

One place near the uni told me to leave my soju outside. I can't drink beer. After a few month of them selling us beer and me drinking juice the guy bought me a soju from the store acroos the street. Now if a bunch of us goe in he asks me if I brought my own or if he shoudl get me some. he doesn't care as long as everyone else buys his beer.

So are you saying beer is usually shunned upon, but the harder stuff tends to be more okay? I'm interested in bringing in soju, more bang for the buck

I think he means it's easier to slip hard liquor into the room. Personally, I don't really worry about it. Just stuff it into a girl's bag (there sould be a girl. otherwise, you're doing it wrong) and then don't order anything or cause any trouble and the guy will most likely never visit the room. And if he does, what can he do about it? Call for some swift action from mighty Seoul police?

Why do you think weakookins' carry those nifty cool napsacks around?
Wink
I have a question; When you walk into a norae-bang, and if you carried a backpask, did they every check it?

Next time, go to GS-25, pick up either some brews or some bottles of soju, then when you get to the norae-bang, get some soda or something and some cups. When the howling gets under way, stealthily place the bottles/cans between the sofa and the machine and be subtle when refilling your glass......

It is that easy Wink

You arrived in the winter...wait for summer and your question will be answered

as for norae bongs...the luxury noraebongs are extremely strict about booze. They check your bags and give you the boot and bar you from ever coming back. Just stick to the cheaper places where they don't care.

We use to get this bar next door to our favorite noraebong to serve us up soju cocktail in a soda bottle and sneak it in. i think they became wise to it after a couple of times because we totally got caught Rolling Eyes oops
