Anyone like this musical? I've seen it like 20 times. |

Yes, I remember seeing it in high school. I asked my wife if she's ever seen it and she hasn't. She likes musicals, but I doubt we can find a copy of the movie here in Korea. If anyone has an idea where I can buy or rent a copy then let me know. |

Back in the day I went out with a Korean girl for dinner and drinks. She told me she had seen CATS live more than 20 times.
I then suddenly remembered that I had an early meeting at work and had to go home and sleep. |

Was in it as Lt Schrank, my year 11 musical. Still love it to this day even if it is high camp of the highest order. |

Hi,
You can get a copy here in Korea. I've picked it up twice...once for me...and once for a school I was at.
Yongsan is always a great place to find DVD's. The Phillips store has a graet supply of a wide variety of titles. Evans at the COEX Mall is also good.
I have a farely sizeable collection of DVD's (250?) and CD's (400?) and I shop around a lot looking for rarities.
If you ever get the CDs check out the differences between the stage production and the film version. |

I've never seen either the play or film (I think the DVD is available at Kyobo bookstore) but I liked the Leonard Bernstein melodies "Somewhere" , "Maria", and "Tonight" performed by various pop singers, including Diana Ross and the Supremes, Barbara Streisand, Andy Williams, and Johnny Mathis...
YouTube has a good video of "America" (with English captions to help with the thick Puerto Rican accents...)

On a related topic, I think that Disney animated films have done a lot to keep the spirit of musicals alive in feature films.
And their recent (Disney Channel) production of "High School Musical" (not yet "officially" available on DVD in Korea...) is very well done - and great for use in Korean High school English classes (if you can find a copy...)
