hi there, i'm living down in yeosu, and i need a new pair of shoes. unfortunately, i'm a size 12-13 men's american sizes, so i'm out of luck down here. does anyone know anywhere where i can get large-sized shoes in korea? i'm almost reduced to buying them online, but with shoes that's always risky. thanks!

I'd like to know as well. I just started a public school job, where sneakers aren't appropriate and classy sandals are. I've been wearing sneakers everyday and the principal / staff have told me to upgrade as soon as it was convenient.

I went to Homeplus and Lotte Mart looking for said sandals, and was only able to find sandals that were way too small for me. Anyone know of any common shops that have a decent selection of shoes and sizes? In Seoul or anywhere?

(I don't mean to hijack the thread).

Itaewon is your best bet. Sorry I'm in the same situation, living almost 4 hours from Seoul and blessed with 295cm feet.

You people are lucky. My feet are 330mm. Size 15 N.A.

Itaewon stores like Nike and Adidas will have shoes in your size but they all look like moon boots nowadays.

If you walk from the subway (not sure which number exit) towards McDonald's the first or second shoe store on your left carries a pretty good variety of big shoes. They even have them in my size now and again.

I buy mine from www.shoebuy.com and they usually have free shipping inside the US. So I get them sent to my Dad's house and he forwards them on to me. It isn't the easiest or quickest solution but they have a huge selection of shoes in my size (15 US) so I can actually get what I want. The selection in Itaewon is really quite bad, or at least it was in 2004 when I lived here last. And the shoes there weren't cheap either, so it's better to just pay the international shipping which is like $40 and have 2-3 pairs sent over.

I recommend www.gmarket.com if you have a Korean friend who can order for you. I just ordered some sandals from there, you can order food and other stuff as well. Takes a day to deliver.

Usually with sandals you can get away with a size smaller than you wear for shoes. I'm a 310 and I got a pair of 300 sandals in a Nike Store which fit great. They're not great to look at but they're comfy and do the job. Try the branded stores in your area, you might find something.

That is a freaked out psychotic website with all that flashing stuff. Is that what they mean by "sparkling"?

Here are some examples of shoes I found:

Ferragamo shoes on discount sale for 378,000 won.

Bally shoes on discount sale for 428,000 won.

Here's some lower priced Bally shoes, what a deal...

sparkle sparkle

It's not clear what sizes they offer, you have to do some registration or something to search further.

Can you provide any examples of good, leather lined, export quality or imported shoes on the site? You say you got sandals.

Here is one interesting item I found, the brand name is KUNT CLUB...
