|
|
When I look in my wallet I feel surprisingly rich when I notice the huge wad of 10,000 bank notes. As too does the local street vendor or cab driver when he/she proudly pulls out about a million notes from his/her pocket to give you some change.
Im just wondering when Korea will decide to bring out some larger sum notes? Perhaps a 20 or 50? or a 100? |

Probably never....Koreans tend to use credit cards quite a bit. As for the reasons, I've heard different reasons why they haven't from counterfitting to black market activities. |

JJ,
I keep hearing they are going to do it, but I've never seen a source. It sure would be nice. |

instead of introducing a larger note, eg a 100,000 won what about introducing a new level, make the won like cents and come up with a "dollar" call it bon (sorry could not think of any cool name) so 10,000 won equals 1 bon introduce a 5 bon and a 10 bon note. this way they don't have to replace all the old notes out there.
so a 110,000 won bike would become 10bon 10,000 dollars (shepbon manwon)
seems like a good idea to me |

Actually if you look at the link Bibbitybop posted, it says they've abandon the plan to redonominate the currency.
Has anyone seen the new 10 won coins? They are so damn tiny. |

I'm collecting those new ten won coins. When I have enough, just for kicks, I'm going to drill them all out and make a necklace. They're not good for much else. |

When I go back to the Philippines, I'm going to pick up a large case of the casino weight chips with four decks. 80 bucks. Sweet.
Till then, thanks for the idea..... |
