I think they are located in my building. I heard they got raided several years ago, but I don't know. They have an ad out on worknplay for 25,000/hr. to teach corporate English, which is too low and not competetive. I believe they are not extremely competetive in recruiting, so it might be a good place to get your foot in the door. I don't know anything about the working conditions or curriculum. |

Waste of time.I dealt with Sam Kang, who seems personable enough over the phone, yet when I got there for a job going for 35K his co-worker did the "bait and switch" and offered another one for 25K,citing the fact that I didn't have business experience.
Whoopy-doo,I teach business english listening in Seohyun for 50K P/T now. |

i spoke with sam too...seemed like a nice guy...how long ago was this?
i'm not doing an hourly gig it would be a salaried in-house position @2.1 with the potential of 2.8 (@ 22k hour) if i choose to take any overtime. said that the adult curriculum consists of pure conversation and watching american TV shows like the OC and Desperate Housewives.
does this place sound fishy? it seems like an easy enough well-paying gig. |

In January and earlier this month.
The job earlier this month was for a part-time gig in Yatab.I told him I'd already been to his company for an interview,so,no-I'm not coming for a second 2 minute interview.
I don't know if they're fishy or not,if it were to be something in house. The "bait and switch" tactic was pretty transparent though. |

I haven't heard anything bad on this board about them.
25,000 is pretty much the average going rate for PT at hagwons.
I believe they have block shifts. Like any adult hagwon you would have to start at 630am or end at 10pm. |

Actually, any part time work I have done in the past at a hakwon was between 35k and 50k per 50 minute class.
I won't even go down the elevator for 25K much less across town. |

so lets say i get offered a position within the company teaching english to executives at some random korean corporation...although my technical employer of record would be w/the company sponsoring my e-two visa (virtedco), it's still illegal? this may be a very complicated visa question, but the main reason why i took the job was to have the (possible) opportunity to eventually gain some hands-on exposure to asian corporate culture...is this opportunity now merely a pipe dream given the restrictions of an e-two visa? |

Who in their right mind would teach PT for 25,000/hr? |

So,it'll be 1:1 or groups? How many other teachers there?
It could be crap, with a crappy year-round split shift, admin who try to make sure your schedule ain't the best, keeping ALL the money when students don't show et al......
Some parts could be cool.At DE(a 1:1 chain run by Pagoda-Boooo!!!!!)the best thing by far were the students.
Bear in mind that even though they say 2.8 potential, that may well just be salestalk |

I bet the business English teaching arena is the most corrupt, even more so than childrens English hagwons. I have no factual evidence to support this statement, just got a hunch on that one. If I stay in Korea for a second year, I will definitely go for public school teaching. Already tired of the hagwon hoopla and uncertainties it carries... |

Unless the location of the random corporation is approved by immigration and added to your ARC as an addition to your place of employment it is illegal.

You won't get any exposure to Asian corporate culture by being the walking/talking dictionary. You are just a breathing CD-player. |

I worked a couple gigs with them, I was less then impressed. When I told them I was done they were all b*tchy. It really wasn't worth the 40/hr they were paying.
They have a pretty good good facility (they are in I WANT Building in Seohyun), but I wouldn't bother with their "sponsorship crap" That salary is low in my opinion. |
