|
|
During my seven years (so far) here, I've studied Korean off-and-on (more "off" than "on", I'm afraid).
I consider myself to be very-low-intermediate. My vocabulary isn't bad, I can use different tenses, and I can tell time, dates, etc. I can get my ideas across, and understand the gist of what people are saying to me, but I would like to someday be fluent.
I would like to take Korean classes, but they all seem to be in Seoul.
Does anyone have information about classes in Bundang?
Thanks! |

I'd be interested too, but I'm an absolute beginner. Just barely 2 months into my first stay here. I'm in the Ori/Miguem area, and if I find anything out I'll let you know. |

Seven years in Korea and you know no Koreans to help you with this? Well done, Mr. Man. Well done indeed! |

The Koreans that I know, including my wife, don't know much about Korean lessons.
Apparently they don't need them. |

Your wife can't speak/teach you Korean? Only the cream of the crop in Korea when it comes to foreigners and logic, eh? |

Actually, as I mentioned in my first post, I'm looking for classes.
I'm not sure how long you've been in Korea, but many people would agree that learning Korean from your significant other is not always ideal. That's my opinion as well.

Dankook University moved to Bundang, but I think they're still running their language programs in Seoul, which is too bad, because Bundang/Suji could really use a good language program.
I don't know of anything in Bundang, but there's a Korean hagwon right at Kangnam station. By subway it takes about an hour from Bundang, but there's probably a bus that's faster. Look up "Korean Language Academy," they offer various classes and they're close to Kangnam station. |

The university in Imae (Choson?) offers Korean language classes. I wish you had of posted this about 3 weeks ago because they are in week 2.5 of a free 12 week course and it is too late to start.
I don't know how much the classes are normally but they do run longer, and more comprehensive than the 12 week freebies. |

Horrible advice to learn from your wife, imho.
Unless you want to speak like a 'poof.' |

Thanks for the replies! I'll be checking out the school in Imae, as well as Ori YMCA. |

Your wife is incapable of finding the classes for you???
I would feel ashamed if i was back in the states and a foreigner asked about a place to learn English and I wasn't able to provide them with help... especially if the foreigner was my wife! |

Chris Kwon,
The original post asked if anyone knows about classes in Bundang. With all of the people on this board, perhaps there would be someone that had taken (or is taking) Korean classes in my area.
Maybe they could give me some basic information, as well as whether they would recommend the place.
Unhelpful posts from you ("I would feel ashamed") and jou ma se poes ("your wife can't speak/teach you Korean?") are a waste of your time, and mine as well.
Anyway, you needn't worry about me. I'm sure you feel ashamed enough at your inability to speak your own language. |

What are you talking about? I speak my own language very well, thank you very much.
I also speak Korean better than you
and I got you to read my post again, wasting more of your valuable time |
