nope they've had signs up for about 2 weeks now announcing it.

first raise in fares since July 05. They get them about every 2 years now

Figure we are due for a taxi fare increase soon

Intercity buses (the red buses) have seen an increase of 300 won. That's annoying for me because I have to catch them.

If a ten cent price increase discourages even one person from being in that foul sardine can it'll have been a good thing.

Daegu's public transportation is more expensive than Seoul's even with this fare increase.

I think the subway is 1,100 won.

Hurray for Seoul.

As well, on the subway, the distance you can travel without an increase in your fare price has been shortened.

It used to cost me 1,000 won per trip from home to the office(800 + 200 for the distance). Now it costs me 1,200 (900 + 300 for the distance) I use a credit card so I think I still get a discount...don't I?

I guess I'll have to work that into contract negotiations.

Cheers

Think of it as more of a public service announcement.

Just to spice things up for those suffering from ADD, has anyone noticed an increase in people jacking off next to you since the fare increase?

Still better than most other cities I've been to. Fukouka was a ton, like 250 yen for six or seven stops. Couldn't believe it after being in Seoul for a year.

god the things some people notice.. you all remind me of my grandma and her mother-in-law, getting together to rave about how oranges went up from 10 cents a pound to 11. I don't even understand why people pay attention to the price of something so cheap.
