This is going to be a long one and would appreciate anyone who would answer it.
OK. Cigarette in hand let's go.
I am into my sencond year here in Korea. For reasons unknown I decided at the end of my first contract to just go straight through. Sign another contract without leaving the country.
So here is the question- When I got this contracts visa there was no stamp in my passport- Just a stamp on the back of my alien registration card. Is this normal?
Too- I had my original passport stolen and they didn't put the big E-2 stamp back in there when I bought them my replacement passport. Has anyone else out there had to get their passport re-stamped.
Also- What happened was my boss is an idiot and thought that he had got me my new visa but had just got me a re-entry stamp. So immigration calls up later and asks where I am. Well still at school. I've overstayed my original visa. So we go down there to pay a 100 000 won fine and I sign something to the effect that- "I made a mistake."
OK. That is cool. I am going to China next month for a few days. Is this going to effect my chance of re-entry even though now I think I have the right visa. Too, at the end of this contract I am going home for a few months- Finally! I want to come back and do one more year- Will this affect my chances of getting my third visa.
Thank you to anyone who can help and set my mind at ease. |

Normal, yes.

Havent heard of this situation before but I'd guess it falls into the same category as your first question -- shouldnt be a problem, as all your vital work info is on computer & your alien card is current.
Also- What happened was my boss is an idiot and thought that he had got me my new visa but had just got me a re-entry stamp. So immigration calls up later and asks where I am. Well still at school. If the reentry permit in your passport is up-to-date you shouldnt have any trouble coming back in.
Too, at the end of this contract I am going home for a few months- Finally! I want to come back and do one more year- Will this affect my chances of getting my third visa.
It'll actually be your 2nd -- your 1st one got extended. From the info youve provided, I dont see why you'd have any problem getting a new one. |
