Can anyone please recommend a nice clean goshiwon or one-room close to a stop on subway line 2? Somewhere close to a university would be nice

Thank you

Ewha Women's University, Sinchon, and Hongik University (Hongdae) are consecutive stops on the NE side of the #2 line. There are dozens of goshiwons in that area. That's your best bet.

I stayed in a Goshiwon in Hongdae when I first arrived, but I think it was overpriced because of it's very central location. I payed 330,000 a month for a very small room with no window. There were benefits such as being able to walk outside any night and see the party going on. And the ajummas that worked there were always making me food.

I love that site! It's been very helpful. I was just looking for some anecdotal evidence too

For anecdotal evidence I was in the one called MAX Livingtel before, but that was 2002 so I have no idea if it's still the same. It also depends on how much you're looking to pay a month. Some closer to one-rooms can be up to 500,000 or more.
