If a torrent for a particular tv show is slow I download all the torrents for that show I can find just to see which one is faster. Is that a good strategy?

If I find a torrent on a website and click on it sometimes I get a message saying that I already downloading a file with the same content. Does that mean that the file will download from the same sources? Would deleting a file and replacing it change the list of peers?

Right now almost all my files are downloading at 0kb/sec except for two files that are downloading at 35 or more.

Look for the trackers with the best seed/leech ratio. Lots of seeders and fewer leechers should give better speeds.

Utorrent asks if I want to add the tracker, and I'm assuming that it's connection to all of the trackers...At least, that's what it shows when I click on the torrent infor.

Maybe your torrent program isn't configured correctly...In Utorrent or Azureus, is your connection green, yellow, or red?

I like torrents! but MAN we need something better!! hahaahaha
I hate waiting 10 or 30 days for a movie becuase only one or 5 guys in the WORLD!!! is seeding it!!! whats up with that anyway!!
and even if one guy is seeding it, why does it take 20 days to come in!!!?

I would pay 10 or 20 bucks a month if I could download unlimited tv shows and movies at turbo speeds!!

I think Bram has some kind of thing now where he is selling DRM movies if you want to pay for it (but still offer UL to others through bit torrent)

don't ask me for the website, but imagine you could search for it if you're that keen on it

I thought that the more seeders and leechers the healthier the torrent?

Because you can leech off a leech that has more of the file than you do, the more people in the scrum the better.

I switched to utorrent. It has an option for encrypting ports and I checked that. I don't know if that is what did the trick or not. It could be the program is better. It could be that the default settings are more in tune with my situation. It was also easy to have it store the torrent files in my external drive instead of my C drive.

There are plenty of websites in Korea that offer super fast downloads for about 10 bucks a month, and apparently they are legal because they pay a token amount of money as royalties.

Well then you don't know much about torrents or how they are distributed. I am assuming you don't use good private trackers as well. Maybe you should stick to topics you know something about. bye.

Thought I would abuse this thread instead of starting a new one.

I bought a 320GB HD for my USB enclosure. My Laptop HD was filling up fast. I moved my Azureus Downloads folder to the Z: (320GB in the enclosure) ran the config wizard changed the C: drive designations to Z:, but now nothing is downloading? Do I have to refresh the torrents?

I thought I was doing things correctly. Any help will be appreciated.
