I left Seoul, but my phone remains. It would like a new home with you.
It's a Samsung Anycall, about 3 years old. I had it on contract with SK Telecom, but before I left, I closed out my account. Now it's unregistered, so you can set up a prepaid account on SK with it. Pretty basic phone, but it's got decent reception and quality sound levels. It has:
-English menus (also a Korean menu option if you prefer)
-Camera (not a great one though...)
-Color display
-Alarm clock
-Everything else you'd expect from a basic phone
The phone comes with a charger and 2 batteries.
It can be yours for W40,000.
My former roommate will be glad to meet you at the subway to pick it up and pay for it. He's in Shinchon (between Hongdae & Ewha Women's University on line #2).
If you're interested, PM me or email me direct -- jonbraun at yahoo dot com -- and I'll be glad to put you in touch with him, in order to set up a time to get the phone.
Thanks! |

As I am unfamiliar with the basics of cell phones......would it cost money to open a new account? If so, how much does one ususally pay? |

I had a monthly contract before, but as far as I know, there's no fee for setting up a pay-as-you-go account. You just register with your name and your ID# from your alien registration card, and then you buy prepaid minutes. |

I decided not to get the phone (to anyone who wanted to purchase it).
I have coworkers who are leaving soon and was going to get theirs for free.
You might want to double check that there is no activation fee as I heard otherwise..... |
