Hi,
I have my passport sorted out, I am picking up the day before I leave.
My flight is on April 19th and my flight back is on Oct 2nd. I am a Canadian citizen. Obviously I dont have time to get a visa beforehand...

I know that Canadians don't need a visa upon entry for 3 months but my ticket is for six months. Will I need to change this to three? What do I do? Do I have to get a visa before or would it be easier to change my ticket to three months earlier? I'm worried about the customs... please get back to me asap on the customs issue...
Thanks in advance.

Canadians are allowed to enter and remain in Korea for 6 months as a tourist provided they have:

a) Return airticket
b) Funds for their period of stay
c) Contact address in Korea.

Canadians on a B2 (tourist visa waiver stamp) are exempted from the requirement to obtain an ARC during their 6 month stay.

It is illegal to work on a B2 visa waiver stamp. If you are caught working on a B2 stamp the consequences range from substantial fines (1 - 2 million won is the usual fine) to detention and deportation (at your expense).

If you are planning to work here it is in your best interest to obtain an E2 visa PRIOR to your entry into Korea.

I don't think I will be working there but I will be going to Japan after my boyfriend makes enough money then returning to Korea.
So do you think it will be easier for me if I change my ticket to a three month departure date?

3 or 6, won't make any difference.
