Maybe doesn't deserve the loud headline, but just saw an MBC report showing beer consumption having plunged of late and been overtaken by soj'

Punters were saying Korean beer tastes watery and just makes them feel full but without enough of a buzz.

Koreans wanna get drunk! They don't much care about taste.

The reporter walked past a wall of beer and Cass Red was in there. Not too many though.perhaps just a limited initial release.

Anyone tried it yet?

Good to know it is out there. I'll have to check around at some stores tomorrow. Anyone know of which stores are carrying it now too?

I only pray it tastes nothing like the sweetened swill that is regular Cass.

There is no truly fine Korean beer, but Cass sucks ass.

I think Hite is worse - the worst.

You're wrong. Drink a Cass after drinking a Hite. It may just put you off beer forever, but you should perceive your last beer to have been the worst.

If I had to choose one, I would pick Cafri. That's if there were no other beer left on the planet.

Tsingtao's not bad, and Asahi is a superb beer...왜그래, Korea?? For being such hardcharging drinkers, you'd think they'd have their act together by now and start manufacturing something other than tasteless rot-gut.

Yickkk. Yes, that would put me right off beer altogether. Of course taste is highly subjective, it's a personal thing, yada yada, but it honestly amazes me that some people prefer Cass over the others. I'm not very avid soju drinker, but I end up ordering the stuff more than I'd like simply because too many places I find myself stock Cass and only Cass.

Seriously? I mean, yeah, the packaging is great, but those "dry" japanese rice beers are obviously brewed for people who don't like beer.

Everyone complains, rightfully, about Korean beer, but it tastes like American domestic beer, which tastes like crap, but if that's all there is, it's doable. Does anyone really find it worse than Bud Light or Keystone?

Yeah, what he said.
I went to a Miller Bar recently as I was semi-excited about having Miller on tap. The first few sips were pleasant but after half a pint, I decided that it is indeed no different in taste from any of the Korean beers.
You could do a taste test with foreigners and I bet 99% couldn't tell the difference.

American domestic beer is crap. And I'm an American. Bud, Coors, Michelob, etc. --- these are beers for drinking ALL DAY. That is their sole purpose. Try the American microbreweries -- those are Grrrreat!!

Anyway, Korean beer is all crap. It all tastes the same; just because they package *beep* in a different bottle doesn't make it taste any better. Hopefully this new Cass is better than just a darker shade of *beep*.

I'm one glass into my first pitcher, and I have to say that so far its been a pleasant experience. It definitely has a Cass-like taste to it which would normally put me off, but there is a slight malty/alcoholic hint about it which is making it rather enjoyable. Well cheers anyway, here's to a good night!
