Is this possible? I'm sick of having my passport stamped when I send money home, so why can't I just start withdrawing my funds each month and then put all the cash in my carry on bag?

Anyone have a good explanation for me why this is a bad idea?

If you are a legal teacher, then you shouldn't be worried too much about eclipsing $10K/year in wiring. After $10K, you just need to start bringing paystubs with you. If you're an illegal teacher, then you can wire up to $10K and then can also take up to $10K through customs, without having to declare it.

The $10,000 applies for the time you are in Korea. If you leave and come back you start from W000 again. Ask the bank to show you the ruling and then you show them your passport which says you have just arrived in Korea. You will be free to accumulate another W10,000 and then leave for a trip to say Fukuhoka. Come back with another new entry visa stamp and you can start all over again.

It depends on the bank. My bank doesn't stamp my passport. I've sent more than 10K home with no problems.

i have accounts at 3 different banks and i send money home as i please without one bank knowing about the other and nobody asks any questions because its not huge amounts at the same bank
