Teaching English is probably the most common international job. But what are some other types of jobs that an average person could do without much experience, and earn a decent salary while living in a different culture?

I've thought of a few:

- Cruise Ship Employee
- Tour guide
- Au-Pair
- Copy Editor
- Call Center Worker

What are some other ones?

programmer
I don't know if it is still true, but a few years back only someone with a computer science or engineering degree could work in France without any worries about an EU passport.

Crusie Ship. No way. Work long, unsociable hours and get paid next to nothing.

Here's a thought:

Western "Playboys" apparently make HEAPS of money in JAPAN.

All ya gotta do is sit down & "make converation" with rich, lonely middle aged Japanese women.

Yes, that's right. The "SEX" part is totally your call Wink

Too bad Korea wasn't as hip.

This is actualy true.

Japanese 'psuedo' pyschiatrists prescribe said playboys to their rich middle aged Japanese clients whose husbands neglect them emotionally and romantically. Straight up.

Programmer.. that's one of the most international jobs available. You can pretty much do that anywhere and get paid well.

Au pair...Oh no! That has to be a crap job! Low pay and living with a strange family. As in, you will be in a prison. You will be watched like a hawk alll the time. No thanks. I don't want to live with anyone but myself!

I sometimes find myself envying 5-star hotel managers. You get to work in a beautiful environment, avail yourself of the amenities, make great money (I think), and, every so once in a while, move around from country to country.

Also work the most long and unsocial hours under the sun.

agreed... the GM of the hyatt's last job was in qatar. Yeah you get to see some cool places but it's a major pain in the ass. He and his family lived in the hotel there (which meant he could always be reached) (and no all night boozing or after parties without the entire staff knowing about it.) but now he lives like 5 minutes from the hotel. But they seem pretty happy with the gig.
