i'm looking to purchase a printer and want one that can print LOTS of decent quality color sheets without breaking my balls on ink. i will be "blowing up" images and printing them out (usually in color) on seperate sheets - kind of like a rasterbation. i realize this is gonna be expensive and is an exorbitant waste of money, but if anyone has any advice on a quality printer that would suit me and save me a few headaches, i'd appreciate it.

I don't think you need a very good quality printer for rasterbation. It really depends on the size of the image. What is 'decent' quality. A4 photographic quality?

Anyway, the image resolution isn't importent unless photographic realism is your aim. Also, try and get a printer that prints next to the edges if you are looking for rasterization effect. Some printers don't print to the edges.

You can find an external ink cartridge system at Technomart. I saw one on display there last week. You can easily refill the external tanks, and it flows down tubes into the printers internal wells.

It might be a good idea to talk (get somebody to talk for you!) to one of the people working in an ink-refill shop. They should be able to advice you on the cheapest solution.
