Just wanted to get the general low down on sports facilities within Public Schools and find out if teachers are allowed to use them.
I play badminton a couple of times a week and I'd like to continue once I get out there. Anyone see much being played, schools or otherwise?
Also, anyone play 5-A-side football or know of any leagues/weekly kick-a-bouts etc?

If you are moving to the Ilsan/Goyang area northwest of Seoul, try these guys for football. www.lokomotiv-goyang.com . They do five-a-side for training weeknights. |

It completely depends on the school. My school has lots of badminton rackets and shuttles but no nets. For PE the students bat shuttles back and forth on the open pitch or stand around in gaggles batting them up in the air. We have a basketball hoop and backboard but no court. We also have two half-size soccer nets. And we have jump ropes. Boy do we have jump ropes. We even have a synchronised jump-rope team. We have a big box of small bowling pins. We have a few starting blocks. And there are a few volleyballs for playing dodge ball. That's all I can think of. If you really want sports equipment at school I suggest you don't work for a mid-sized, rural girls school.
We're in the process of building a new gym so we'll see what comes with that. |
