If had the audacity to post my resume and ask for a two year contract at 3 million a month, do you think anybody would bite? Or is 3 million too much?
I have a year's teaching experience here in Korea and two in the Caribbean (middle school science). I am great with kids, and prefer to teach 10-13 year olds.
Thanks |

Why would they pay you 3 when they could get a n00b for 1.9-2.2mil? |

Can they? My recruiter emailed my coworker today asking her if she knows anybody who wants to work in Korea.
I started out at 2.4 here in Korea and I dont want to settle for anything less. |

Immigration rules..... E2s are ONE YEAR only....
you can extend after one year but the visa is for a max of 1 year at a time. |

I have done a two-year contract -- yeah the visa was for a year, but they just renewed it -- no visa run required, my school took care of the paperwork.
I don't think you can get 3 mill with your background -- I am not saying don't try, but that is a pretty high salary for so little experience. MA in TESOL/Education/English with a teaching degree for the undergrad work, and 5 or 6 years teaching experience? 3 mill might be doable, but. BA in something and 3 years in hakwons? 2.5 is probably generous, unless we are talking insane hours.
Like I said, no harm in trying for all you can get, but I would be surprised if you got it. |
