I think what we should all do when our contracts are up, or if you are considering working abroad teaching English is to avoid Korea for about 3 months.

Go to Taiwan. I was there 5 years. It's a hoot.

I worked in China for a semester , but it was a Taiwan owned start up and I was paid a couple of grand a month. They now pay 5000RMB. But , if you have got a little cash saved, it would be a good time.

Anyway, these people need an "attitude adjustment." And they need it now.

My life here and working conditions are fine, for now. But that could change if the supply/demand factor stays the same.

There was a time when my motto was " it's my way or the highway , baby"

Now, I couldn't get away with that. And I see,

abuse and ingratitude.

This must be a drunken post. Not knocking you OP, just stating.

If you can't live without Korea then you are a die hard, natural born Korean. I think most foreigners living here can live without Korea. They did it before.

"I need cheap, nasty, low grade vodka. I can't live without it. Or double-poled barber shops."

I wasn't quite sure what you meant:

Could you live in Korea without working? You got enough socked away to just stay here and not work.

or

If you didn't have a job in Korea you would have no other alternative in life anywhere else in the world so you would literally die?
