Im looking at buying another p&s digital camera
I have my eyes set on the Canon 850is..
but the more I play around with it, the more I think its alittle to bulky and the shots dont look that great! then again im in a store so I cant get exterior day and night time shots.. does anyone have this camers who can comment? I heard countless reviews on it.. seems the best..

can someone recommend a great point and shoot camera, small and easy to use.. mostly of scenery and going out pics..

cheers..

I love the Z series Kodak. The software is user friendly and the express upload is great for sharing with friends. Everyone at home checks their inbox on Sunday nights to see what I did over the weekend.

If you want to see some of my pics, PM and I'l send you a link.

I have a Canon 800IS and I find it to be fantastic. Takes great pics outdoors, indoors, and even in the dimly lit clubs. Endless 30fps video til your mem cardis full. Lotsa presets in the "scene' menu (portrait/ night/ indoor/ foliage/ beach/ etc). BIG lcd. Haggled and got mine w. 1 gig SD card for under 300 000won. Best investment I have made since coming to Korea.

This Nikon CoolPix S10 I bought recently produces incredible quality pictures (like in National Geographic magazines) with decent video capabilities too. I got the camera, a nice rugged case that goes on your belt, a battery, a USB cable, A cable with RCA jacks, and a 1 gigabyte memory card for 338,000 won. This camera is slightly cheaper in the US, but you do not get the 1 gigabyte memory card and case with it there. I noticed when researching cameras on the internet for sale at HomePlus that they really are not much more exensive (usually about $30) than in the US, they just are a few of the nicest late models. The free memory and case helps make up for the few extra dollars more they may cost here. Those Canon IXUS and Samsung NV 10 cameras look like some of the best too.

Very nice camera, I am very pleased with it.

If you ever take pictures when it's dark: Fuji F31fd destroys the competition.

I have the Canon IXUS 900ti. It seems to be a good p&s camera. I haven't spent enough time figuring everything out on it yet. For some reason or another, I don't think it has image stabalization. I could be wrong about that though.

www.dcresource.com

Go there and read the reviews and hop on the forum. I have the 850IS and I love it. If you want a thinner/sexier camera then get a Sony T series or a Casio Exilim.

I've had Exilim and the Sony T9 and my Canon 850IS takes the best pictures hands down. The Canon 850 has Optical Image stabilization, how can you say no to that?

Don't be too swayed by name recognition from heavy advertising, etc. While Canon, Nikon, Kodak, etc. make some fine cameras, they are not always the best available.

If you are looking for a compact P&S, why not consider the Fuji F30 or F30fd? They have a great lens and excellent sensitivity in low light. The F30fd can be set to automatically focus on faces instead of the wall behind them, an advantage if you are not an experienced photographer, or if your subject is moving. I have not used FD, but it sounds like it works. And even for a skilled photographer, it could prove handy. Otherwise, you need to focus on the face, lock the focus, and recompose your picture.

While many novices are unfamiliar with Fuji, pros know they make some top specialized camera, and lenses for large format cameras. They also make the color film used by many pro film photographers.

i would get a samsung digital camera.. because its made by a korean company.. hence its got to be the best. Laughing

i have owned fujis, casios and canons. the best overall camera in my opinion has got to be the canons. excellent build quality, good low light performance. i would avoid sony`s unless u already have sony memory sticks.

Canon is well built, etc. But once again - if you take any pictures when it's dark, any P&S Canon is going to be quite a bit inferior to the Fuji F31fd.
