I felt that this gem had to be shared. The other day I've discovered a Micro Brewery in Seoul. And it's in the centre of town in Myeong Dong. The most amazing fresh, German type beers (3 kinds) is freshly brewed at the LeBassus. Tel.: 3783-4468

Even the modern interior with blue/white checkered table cloths won't take too much away from the joy of the golden mead. You can even see the beer making machinery.

Take exit 3 and follow the signs underground. Or It is on the other end of the main shopping drag away from Migliores. [/color] when you get to the end of the street turn left walk to the back street that runs paralel and look dow the huge blue sign is at shoulder hight as the bar is in the basement.

I've been drinking at Castle Praha a lot lately. It would be nice to find another place to go, even if it is stuck in Myungdong.

Castle Praha

This place is right by my gf's office, so I've been there a bunch. I like it quite a bit, although the ol' wallet can take a hit there if you load up on food. The beers taste a bit fruity, but their freshness is a nice change from the usual. I have no idea whether the Czech food there is authentic or not (probably not, but I've never eaten Czech food, so I don't know), but there's a couple dishes that are pretty tasty- that one with the sour cream sauce or whatever comes to mind.

The castle motif on the outside is a bit tacky, but still kinda cool, and I really like the inside. The 2nd floor looks like a medieval dungeon or something.

There's also Platinum in Gangnam, most of the beers are pretty mediocre and watery, but then there's Morphine the 8.4% Belgian blonde ale. The batches vary a lot, sometimes its skunky, sometimes its good, and sometimes its fucking amazing. A good batch of that is some of the best beer I've ever had...

You mean the one in Gangnam or the one in Hongdae? The Hongdae one is in this crazy looking medieval church building.
