Yes, I do because I don't mind shelling out a few bucks to pay for something that I consider has high replay value. And, as someone else pointed out, playing online is difficult without the original (something I enjoy doing).

Call me crazy, but, I tend to pay for software that I fee is "worthy" of payment (operating systems, games, and other software that I find, again, worthy).

Playing online with strangers sucks. Just like an anonymous message board on the net....attracts all sorts of freaks and their fearless attitude hiding behind their monitors. Even owning people like that just isn't fun...a sore loser is worse than a gloating winner and niether are in short supply on the net.

You really need to start playing DEFCON and setting up sneaky alliances with others ganging up on some poor sod and wiping him out, then carefully planning a stab in the back of your ally and taking him out at the last minute.

I'm sure that with a bit of work could get some Hagwon owners to form a team. The might get straight to the top of the leader board or stab each other in the back and fail.

cl you got my hopes up! There aren't too many mainline games on there for download.

Most of the games are shipped in box...and I can't tell if they ship internationally.

They do ship internationally. $29.99 and takes 3-5 business days (don't know how many games they will ship for you at that price).

Yep.

Anytime I've tried playing online it's been a confusing blur or I've just got wiped out in seconds. Even with games that I thought I was decent at. I don't know if they are just so much better than me or if they were cheating.

I much prefer the, it's-all-up-to-you aspect of single-player games. Plus, if I want to play computer games with 14-year-olds in Texas then I need to scrutinise my life!!

Yeah, I suck as well. I used to own with Q3, but those days are gone. Good and gone, actually. I am more interested in single-player games now...unless I am hanging out with other oldies in the gamer's lounge, chasing each other around with Geritol squirt guns.

I'm an online Battlefield junkie. I've been playing for 5 years! Since the first one came out. It's great fun to play online, just practice up. You'll have a hard time at first because you don't know the maps and hiding places well, but you'll learn quickly. Just keep off voice if you don't want to hear kids chattering away.

I'm with you with the RTS, though. Man! Those guys are l33t! Razz You're lucky if you last 10min.

Is there a single player version of Battlefield?

How do you get it? Is it the Demo? Is it free?
