when it comes to food, i'm picky. not picky, like i won't eat vegetables or nuts or breakfast food or anything with gluten or whatever, but picky in that i don't eat fast food, i don't eat fried food, i don't like unhealthy stuff. i buy organic as much as possible and do most of my own cooking.
but i recently had a hankering for fried chicken. this is the land of fried chicken, and i went downstairs to oh my chicken where i ate the best fried chicken i have ever tasted!
i am hooked on the shit.
it's tasty. it's light. it's crispy. it comes with a great bbq sauce.
i've had it twice in two weeks now. i never thought i'd be a regular fried anything consumer.
what's your current guilty pleasure?

yep, i've been south of the mason-dixon line, and while i did eat fried chicken when i was there (in florida), it was a loooong time ago, and i don't really recall how good it was. maybe it was better. probably was, since it was homemade and all.
point being, this is what i'm in love with right now.
i agree with you on crown royal (crown and ginger, my favourite drink)and good cigars, however for me those are ongoing guilty pleasures, not something i've just recently gotten into.

whoah...florida almost in a class like texas...it doesn't count as the south. Too many snow birds.
although homemade fried chackin can be amazing. it can also shorten your life span.
I'm a crown and ice drinker myself.
and yes...they aren't new to me either . I just haven't found anything that can top them. |

Sobriety. It's interesting, but I don't think it'll stick.
Traxxe, that's funny. Sometimes I get ghost smells of the stuff. It was a recent guilty pleasure until I came here. One of my cohorts back home just booked himself into NA, so I kinda feel like I dodged a bullet booking myself into Korea before things got crazy. |

I'm hooked on riding my bike about 25 clicks to a little town near here, esconcing myself as if unrecognized royalty in the corner of the best fried chicken joint in town, settling into first one half,
and that half half spicy, half plain,
then later the other half the same,
bathing my innards with icy cold draft beer
in mugs frozen only for me
until one of each becomes two,
and the path before me
both hilly and winding. |

| Hey Laura, did you try any of Paul and Yumi's chicken at the Slackers show? That was some insanely good stuff. |
