Is there anyone who has gone recently on a visa run to Osaka? Please provide me detailed information on documents and photos needed, money needed, how to get from airport to the embassy, etc.

I'm on a very tight schedule and would really appreciate any help you can give me.

(I've already checked the other threads, but they're outdated. I'm in desperate need of current information.)

My friend is doing the run tomorrow: I can update you when he gets back. I did the run 5 months ago.
You will need your E2 form, which your school should provide you with. Plus, your passport, several recent passport sized photos, and money.
The visa itself cost me 60.000 won. But take extra cash to be safe. You will be paying in Yen- so be sure to buy a reasonable quantity of yen at Incheon before you fly out. There is an exchange desk at Incheon airport- its no problem. I say this because Japan is infamous for refusing to change korean won into yen.
Be sure to arrive at the Korean embassy and submit your documents before midday, so as to be able to collect them at 3pm (the standard time for issuing visas). The train from the airport into osaka is fairly expensive by Korean standards- something like 25000 won if I remember correctly, and takes an hour.
Be sure to go on a working day. Last time I went my boss sent me on a Saturday, and yes, the embassy was closed. Make sure the Korean consulate will be open! Don't go on a publis holiday, or a Korean or Japanese holiday.
Take plenty of extra cash as back up. Japan is very expensive- probably at least 3 times the cost of Korea. If the worst comes to the worst, you may have to stay an extra day or so in osaka, as happened to me. Luckily in my case, Korean air changed the return date on my ticket without fuss, at an hours notice, for only 10.000 won charge.
At Osaka airport there is a useful English speaking information desk, and they will furnish you with maps and directions to the Korean embassy.
Good luck.
After my friend gets back I'll give you a more detailed lowdown on the trip.

Ok Merrilee, my friend returned from the trip last night... All pretty straightforward... he submitted his documents at 1 o'clock and got them back at 4pm.
Photos you can get in the booth, which is in the consulate..
Apart from that all you need is your form and your passport...
