I'd reckon that any American with more than a passing interest in history is already aware of their country's transgressions.
No more sordid than the histories of Britain, France, Spain, Russia, China, Japan, or a host of other countries. |

It's a terrific book, but it's 37 years old. It isn't exactly news.
Since this kind of thing appeals to you, perhaps you could recommend a book about the massacre at Amritsar or that 'battle' in Africa where the Brits used machine guns on spear-carrying...Fuzzy Wuzzies, was it? |

Old stuff. Read it in high school. Kinda one-sided.
Unlike MANY other countries, the US learns from its mistakes, and MOVES ON. |

Maybe a troll.
The book is interesting, but who believes everything they read?
Yeah, a troll.
Hey, TROLL- it's Saturday- go to Itaewon and start drinking. That's what your supposed to do on Saturday- not bother people online. |

Probably most people know already, but just in case, I also strongly recommend Howard Zinn's A People's History of the United States and some Korea-centric stuff by Bruce Cumings, Korea's Place in the Sun and North Korea. |

I read that book all the way through when I was back in the States...I was glad to find out my voting rights came only because they were in the monetary interests of white capitalists ........
Also guess we Americans should introduce ourselves by our names then start talking about how 'we' stole the land... |

It always amuses me when a person reads ONE book covering ONE facet of American history and suddenly feels entitled to pass judgment on who was to blame for the historical outcome.
Saint-- If you're really interested in learning about American History, read Allen W. Eckert's "Winning of America" series. I hope you're not too disappointed when you learn that there were good people and bad people on all sides (British, French, and Native American).

Canada is the only truly good country. They never do anything wrong. |
