Can anyone tell me, or does anyone have a link for a full list of dates for national public holidays in Korea?
Thanks in advance,

This lists em, just select 2007 and it will display what day each falls on.

You will notice that the next weekday off is Thursday, May 24th for Buddha's Birthday. We will get several more holidays this summer too, one each month so a little time off is coming our way. I am finding there are actually fewer week days off in Korea than in the USA for teachers, unless your teaching in a university. A whole lot less vacation too if your teaching in hagwon, but hagwon usually offers a standard 2 weeks similiar to many salaried company positions at home, except you don't decide when you will take the vacation though. |

April 5th and July 17 are no longer public holidays due to the 5 day workweek being implemented. |

Thats a bummer that holidays are being deleted. I do see Koreans all around me working Saturday and Sundays every weekend so I do not see them abiding by any 5 day work week, other than at many hagwons like were I work at. Heck, during my 1st 2 months, I got my bills early Sunday morning with a knock on the door, now my bills have not showed up for over a month since moving into another apartment. So they may be taking Sundays off now and forgetting about the work they used to do on Sundays. (I am still seeking a way to get my bills so I can pay them)
I know my KT's are not taking weekends off like us FT's do, because the KT's are not thrilled a bit when Friday rolls around. They say they are just, "so so", the same as they are on Monday mornings and are always very exhausted. The weeks and months are starting to get long for me with few holidays or free days as hagwon is not a fun place to be. I get Saturdays and Sundays, but find myself to be very exhausted so I rest alot. I never thought teaching was a hard job before I started, but it is, especially when you got a heavy class schedule (30 or more teaching hours a week). I could not and would not work Saturdays too. |

Are you sure about July 17th? It's marked in my Korean diary as a holiday.
Can anyone else confirm/deny? (I need all the holidays I can get!)
Cheers. |

Maybe the July 17th holiday will be deleted next year, or someone printed calendars too early. |
