On Friday night walking out of a hiphop club in the Seoul area, very late night and very drunk... this short Korean guy got on my case about "goin back to America", "Korean Pride" and "Fuckin Yankee", etc etc.

I just said something to the likes of dude im Canadian and started walking away. This of course didnt seem to matter and he kept on giving me some trouble and started following me. Naturally, self defense mode kicked in and I turned around and faced him an he came towards me.

Not sure how, but thanfully nothing happended (i either get jumped by a bunch of Koreans and fined if i hurt him, cant win).

Basically its the first time this has happened and im wondering if it happens often? Do things like this happen unprovoked or did I maybe do something to catch his attention in the bar? A few girls were nice too me, didnt pick up anyone, but generally had a good time and dont think i hurt anyone.

I was pretty much in self defense mode ready to drop this guy and his friend and basically high tail it out of there, and this is generally not fun.

I probably did a mistake in turning to face him, but since he was following me i didnt want to be jumped from behind.

Any comments, advice, similar stories out there.... or better ways to handle these situations.

You know hip-hop music. It's a very racially segregated culture. If you're not Korean you don't get in.

It's music that is often the result of black people's contempt of society, then taken out of context and used to vent anger by Koreans (even though they have no idea what the Youngbloodz or The Game are saying).

It's image, it's insecurity, it's rediculous.

But if you get jumped, get out of there for safety or legal reasons, or latch on with your fist, feet and teeth (Mike Tyson, baby) to the first guy you can. Then run, for legal reasons.
