you can either take the airport limo to sockho and than take the 7 or 7-1 to soraksan
or
beacuase i dont know if the airport limo runs all that frequently, take a taxi from the airport to the yang yang bus terminal, get on the 9 or 9-1 to sunrise park or daepohong port, get off, cross the road, and get on the 7or 7-1 to sorak.
the cab route to yang yang will probably be quicker.
you could also just take a cab all the way to sunrise park or deapohong port, should be about 12k and then get in the bus.
dont trust the airport limo. while the yangyang airport is built to hundle 2 million passengers a year, god knows why, it only has three flights a day.
just remember that once you get into sokcho if you go that route, go back south on the 7 or 7-1 to get all the way to sorak, cost is only chun won.
where are you staying, the youth hostel? |

Thanks for that...
yeah Yangyang was built with such a capacity for 2 reasons...
1. The imagined influx of japanese tourists which might come to see Bae Yong joon and his winter sonata...they did have international flights to Osaka for a while but scheduled flights have now stopped.
2. It will be(and was) the official international airport for the Pyeongchang winter olympic bid. Incheon was seen as too far away so they built it so there would be a big international airport near the venue....
Thanks for the info...i think i might just get into sokcho and take the bus back out to seoroksan as i thought would probably be the case...
As i am arriving on wednesday night and staying on thursday and friday might just rock up and see what is available in one of the better yeogwans. I am sure i will be fine.....everywhere else i have ever travelled i have never had a problem. |
