I know I could 5 years ago, but when I asked my co-teacher today, she seemed to think it would be impossible.

It took quite a bit of explanation on my part before she could understand what I was asking about.

I don't want to wire money home, just send a few dollars to a friend who then forwards my Canadian mail to me.

수 표 or something like that?

Can I just do it at the post office, like back in Canada?

Thanks

KEB Korea Exchange Bank. Ask for a money order. They do have them in US dollars. Cost you almost 10 thousand wonnies.

I have bought money orders at KEB, WOORI, and SHINHAN. They all have money orders available in most foreign currencies (USD, CAD, EURO, GBP, etc). Just go to the foreign exchange desk in your favorite bank and ask for a "Money Order". They are familiar with the term.

I've always asked for a banker's draft (as I believe that's what they are called back home) and never have problem. KEB charges 5K per cheque.
