This is a copy of an email that was sent to me from my CO to other members of the unit....where is the gist in it?

This makes way too much sense.
Solution to Save Gasoline:
Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the borders . When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq . Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, withou t the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved. If you think this is a good solution to both the problems, forward it to your friends.

If this was suppose to be a joke, where is the humor in it? |

Yeah, keep out those pesky Canadians. There is one other thing you can do to bring down the price of gas and that's to stop invading the suppliers. |

That would also solve the problem of affordable fruits and vegetables. |

I believe America should fix the illegal immigration issue, but the email is stupid. Anyone who wants to immigrate to America should go through the proper channels. They shouldn't be required to serve in the military, but that could be one option for faster citizenship.
It's funny to hear all the right-wing nutjob's rant about "our" country and how we should arrest and deport all illegal immigrants.. If they want all the illegal immigrants out, start with the white people and anyone else non-Native American. |

They should be required to serve in the military.....you want to live in the country...serve it then.
In fact, a person wanting to immigrate to the U.S. I would think would want to serve in the military without having to be told. One wants all the benefits, grants, money, etc. of living in the U.S. or Canada or any country for that matter, serve it. Same with korea...you want to live in korea and have the advantages of koreans'...then serve...or don't come to korea.
The military is not for everyone of course, but, a few years won't do one no harm. |

I don't remember anyone asking illegal immigrants to join the military prior to the war. I don't see why the war makes it logical. Makes no sense. |

Can we safely assume then that you are making every possible effort to join the Korean military? |

Not to mention the problem with all those fields being occupied by those bothersome farms. If you can't bring the Mexicans et al to the farms, the agricorps will just bring the farms to the Mexicans. Lots of cheap land and labor in central and South America and China and India and... |

You are ignoring a history of US immigration. It's not necessary for immigrants to serve. What about the immigrants who were part of 9-11. Want them to serve?
Military service has hurt, killed and fuked up friends of mine, and they went in voluntarily. I don't want to discuss the horrible things the US military would do to immigrant soldiers after knowing the tests they've done on native-born soldiers.
You think people would want to serve in the military and serve in an illegal war? I'm sorry.
I feel sorry for the Korean youth who have to serve in the military in Korea. I'm not arguing against the need for a military, that's an obvious need, but I support the right of people who choose a different path. |

Difference: Native Americans were hoodwinked and conquered. If Mexicans come in and conquer the US, they can have it. |

I rarely join in political discussions, but IMO here is the solution a former Clinton aide suggested. Instead of spending billions of dollars in building the Great Wall of China between Mexico and the U.S. and hiring tens of thousands of National Guard troops to patrol the borders, all of that money should be reinvested in a type of "Marshall Plan" not unlike the one the U.S. implemented for Europe after WWII to help it rebuild into a strong economy. The Marshall Plan kept many European countries from turning into sub-Saharan stinkholes and brought their economies back in full swing in less than 30 years.
Think about it for a moment. Mexico has a ton of natural resources such as oil reserves and natural gas (a lot of it is still unexploited off of the Gulf of Mexico). If the money is invested to proactively develop Mexico's economic infrastructure while cleaning out the endemic corruption within its political circles then Mexico can have the potential to become a developed and powerful nation.
But this could probably create another problem. While it may stop immigration, it could also quite possibly cause separatist sentiments in the U.S among the Mexican majority. Remember Texas? That was once a predominantly white enclave in Mexico. When they saw that the grass was greener on the States, and things kinda sucked in Mexico, they cried for separation or annexation to the U.S. Since a lot of the U.S. southwest now has a steadily-growing Mexican minority which is expected to exist as the majority by 2025, something could give eventually. If the grass is greener in Mexico, then we might see a reverse Texas-style upheaval at worst (re-annexation to Mexico, which means you can kiss a piece of the U.S. goodbye). Or a regional and proud cultural upheaval, or "Latinization" U.S. southwest with strong ties to Mexico at best. Mexico could even have an illegal immigrant problem in the future (in this case, kiss the dominant white European American identity and culture goodbye).
Another civil war? It is doubtful that such a nightmare scenario could happen. But in any case, the countries that were forcibly taken from Mexico in the first place are now being quietly reclaimed once again by Mexicans, only this time as one historian put it "they are being retaken by Mexico without firing a single shot." Interesting. |
