I arrived a week ago and I'm living north of PNU. Nice area up here, affluent but QUIET and BORING.
I missed any orientations where I could have met some other ESL teachers around here.
So, it doesn't take me long to get to Dongnae on the subway. I'm looking for westerners to meet and hang out with in the Dongnae area. Hopefully some westerners hang out in the PNU area.
So if you're out there please drop me a line.
Also, for any of you living in this area can you recommend any good gyms? I'm looking for good weight machines and free weights, as well as cardio equipment. I saw a gym near my apartment and it was a joke.
I haven't had much time to explore yet, but it looked like there might be a decent gym near Jangjeon-dong, close to the subway?
And does anyone know of a good store close by that sells bodybuilding supplements like whey protein and creatine?
Thanks |

there's an ok gym, by korean standards, next to the subway in jangjeondong... it's called morning calm and it's on the 5th floor above a seafood restaurant... i'm not sure on the exact exit number, but you get off on the opposite side from the university.. and again there's only one building with more then 4 stories.. and they sell supplements. |

There's plenty of foreign hangouts in PNU.
For sure hit up the Turkish restaurant for great food. Kebabistan. From PNU Subway exit 1, you will see a street right in front of hte exit going up a slight incline. Walk this street for about 5 minutes until you get to the stoplight. Cross the road and Kebabistan is on the left, in the basement.
There's also Crossroads, Basement, SoulTrane, Moe's, and probably others I'm forgetting. Check pusanweb.com or koreabridge.com forums for directions to these. (I'm usually at least tipsy by the time I get to these, so I can't be trusted to tell you) |

My School where I learn Korean is throwing a big party at Moes this Saturday. Come on down.
Moes is located between Janjongdong and PNU. If you need better directions, ask.
Also, what are interested in. How about Muay Thai, Hapkido Korean lessons (great teachers and they are they are your passport to a better life in Korea), Sunday night poker, hiking, basketball.....there are lots of things to do in this area.
