I was just wondering if anyone has heard of or taught at GDA Junior in Bundang, and if so, what your experience there was? Any good or bad things? How about living in Bundang? I've heard complaints that it doesn't have much of a nightlife, but I'm not exactly a party animal, so I think it would be nice. How's the weather there, and how are the people? I've heard that they're very curtious. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there! I actually worked at GDA Junior in Bundang for a year, w/my wife. It was a fantastic first place to start, and "get your feet wet". It's all Kindy and Elementary, so if that's yoru thing, you're set. I'll start with the "bad", or "not as good" first:
--lower than average pay
--lots of work and hours, but you get out of it what you put in
--you must dress up (shirt and tie for men, nice clothes for women)
--lots of paperwork (report cards, etc)

However, the "good" parts:
--fantastic Korean/American admin lead
--helpful Korean staff
--ALWAYS get paid on time, and they pay pension, too
--plenty of resource material
--decent apartments
--Kinder kids are as cute as hell

Finally, Bundang is flat-out the BEST place to live, in my opinion, and my wife and I are trying to get back there, as well. We may come back to GDA, we may not; don't know. But Bundang is the best because it's clean, quiet, and full of parks and walkways. There's plenty of "night life" if you want it; any bar can do just fine. Is it like Itaewon? No, and that's good; head there when you want to get all crazy and have everything around you be crazy; but then head home to quiet when you're done. It's a great place to live.
