I don't think this has been posted in a previous thread. If it has....sorry.
I'm wanting to know what the procedure is for obtaining a motorcycle license in Korea IF and only IF you are going to be riding a 250cc or larger bike (I've got a hankering for a Comet 250...really fun looking bikes). So far I've only been able to collect conflicting information.
So far I understand some sort of test is required. Is this test written or a riding skills test OR both?
I've been riding for a number of years and have taken the Motorcycle Safety Foundation basic riders skills course and aced it with no problems. I currently ride a Sportster 1200 Custom which isn't the most nimble machine on the road and is a bit top heavy....so while there is always room for improvement in the skills department I feel confident with my riding ability.
I also read on this thread that there are such things as Motorcycle Hagwons. Do these motorcycle hagwon actually help a foreigner obtain their Korean motorcycle license? Does anyone know if a motorcycle hagwan exists in Ulsan (this is probably where I'll end up).
I'm not in Korea yet but I will be in August and I've heard Korea is a great place to ride and I'm very excited about seeing the countryside from two wheels.
Any other info would be appreciated. One more question.... are there any groups of folks on here, clubs, etc...from the Ulsan area that enjoy riding and/or touring around Korea.
Thanks for the help!!!!
